Our Dogs
A dog is just a dog, right? While many members of this club might own multiple breeds of dogs, you will find that for most of us we have a special place in our heart for this giant, slobbery, hairy, drooly, and goofy dog we call a St. Bernard.
Below, our members will share why we love, support, and promote the Saint Bernard. (To be listed in alphabetical order).
Quijano's (last name/kennel name)
I had my first St. Bernard when I was six years old and for the next eight years he was my best friend. I remember when we brought him home I loved to play tag with him and I would drag him around the floor like he was a mop. About three months later he was dragging me around like a rag doll. For nine years we were the best of friends.
When I was ready to get my own dog, I looked at several breeds but I quickly came back the St. Bernard. To me the St. Bernard is a majestic dog. Of course its size makes it tower above most other dogs and with its massive head it will always get attention. But what really makes this dog majestic to me is its history and what's in there DNA. These dogs were bred for several hundred years to save people, how noble is that! Along with saving people in unbearable snow storms, they also protected the monks and later there families, and they worked, hauling goods to and from the monastery. I have been fortunate that all the Saint I have owned have had these traits. They have been very caring and excellent with our kids even when they were babies. Their personalities have been very laid back but they are always keeping an eye on the family, and they are happy watching a movie or going for a hike with the family. They have worked helping me with yard work or hauling our kids around in there cart. They usually get very excited when the carting harness comes out.
We have owned six saints in our lifetime (so far) and we currently have two, Thor and Loki.

She sat down with her notebook in her hand, her mind wandering to faraway places. She paused and considered all that had happened. It hadn't gone as expected. When the day began she thought it was going to be a bad one, but as she sat recalling the day's events to write them down, she had to admit, it had been a rather marvelous day.
